Ateren helps me remember to take my medicines on time. I pop the pill and record when and where I took it.

T.Raja

The daily morning email reminds me of the most pressing items and which order they need to be done.

A. Aruok

Ateren easily fits into my workflow of taking quick notes about important topics and grouping them together for sharing.

B. Pastor

It's pretty basic but then I don't need a complicated tool. Hope they add a bit more features soon.

Anon

My Mom sometimes forgets when after school practice finishes. I can put the info into Ateren so she can check easily and pick me up on time.

Lilly

I use it to keep track of my BJJ lessons and see if I am improving week to week, month to month.

The Ateren story

I stood under the shower waiting for the water to hit my bald head and as the water sprayed down it came to me in a flash..........No sorry, that's pretty contrived.......it's not true. There was no light bulb moment, no singular eureka event.Just a slow drip of missed appointments, unexpected costs for renewing a passport urgently, turning up to school with a child on a teacher training day and other small but exasperating inconveniences.Trying to juggle the many priorities of life in a head chock full with deadlines for work, lists of shopping, family plans for the weekend and irritation at failing to find my electric drill in the tool cupboard (I had lent it to my brother a few months earlier). There were and still are physical solutions to these problems - a calendar with notes written on it, post-it notes stuck to fridges or even dare I say it a diary. All viable options to the problem but requiring a discipline and practice that I started a few times but never quite saw through to a habit.During the late aughts the waves of mobile phone technology and the internet collided and merged to create a tsunami of ubiquitous computing for the masses in the shape of the iphone and its fast follower android. And so as software started its main course of eating the world, I had the feeling of wanting to be involved in the changing landscape. Not as an observer, but a participant no matter how small. The inkling of an idea to organise events, activities even memories online coalesced into the essential questions of - what, where and when? These inputs further morphed into whAT, whERE, wheN - ATEREN. An abstraction, a noun to encapsulate this idea of a digital tool and with it the doodling during boring meetings brought forth an associated logo.So I read Techcrunch & Hacker News regularly and understood the new masters of the universe were the wizards who made the electronic machines attend to their ideas and visions.I decided I should learn to code..........I failed to learn to code.Sure I grokked some basic principles and even got an Ateren input form hacked together using Django and deployed it to Heroku, but as the learning was always in my fleeting spare time it never stuck or produced something I could actually use, never mind share.Nothing of significance instantiated, just a fancy logo and some prototype of an idea of a utility that could, might, probably would help me and others be more organised. Now we marinate. The meme, the mind virus of Ateren is embedded well and truly in my brain. It surfaces with new images and forms unbidden all times of the day. It whispers - you could fix this with an Ateren, Ateren would help make this quicker, easier, better.Whispers and fragments of ideas knocking about in my head for over a decade, yet still nothing more to show for it.Then we come to 2020 and the world event that is the Pandemic. After several months of panic, medical uncertainty and tragic deaths, it is notable that the adoption of internet services accelerates and soars, even as lives were grounded and confined to the walls of our residences under lockdown. It is during 2021 that I learn about the availability of No-code tools that allow non-technical people to produce real web apps. After some research I chose to give Bubble.io a go and the website you see before you is a result of those endeavours. Thanks for reading this far, the next stage of the story is really about you. What will Ateren mean for you? This is still an early alpha version for you to try and get value from, while we iterate based on the feedback you provide. So please do give us feedback, good or bad the Team would like to know your thoughts on ATEREN and what you use it for.
